　昨日、平和記念式典で子ども代表が「自分が優位に立ち、自分の考えを押し通すこと、それは、強さとは言えません。本当の強さとは、違いを認め、相手を受け入れること、思いやりの心をもち、相手を理解しようとすることです。本当の強さをもてば、戦争は起こらないはずです。」と述べた。ケネディ大統領も、子ども代表も戦争を起こす重大な要因であり、自国が他国よりも優越しているというナショナリズムを乗り越えるための普遍的知恵や価値観を伝えている。

　昨日の平和記念式典では、ウクライナに侵攻したロシアと、ロシアのウクライナ侵攻に協力するベラルーシは招待されなかった。広島の８月６日は世界平和への普遍的な価値を伝える機会でもある。ウクライナでの戦争があり、ロシアのプーチン大統領が核兵器の使用をちらつかせる今だからこそ、核による人類の絶滅を救うには、広島と長崎の市民だけでなく、ロシアやベラルーシも含めて世界全体の人々が危急の使命として核廃絶の問題に立ち上がっていかなければならないことを認識すべきである。命が大切なことや、武力や殺生ではなく、対話で国際問題の解決を求めることに国家や民族の相違は関係ないことを映画「ひろしま」は訴えているように思う。
